SWACHA Honored for Marketing

October 4, 2002, Dallas, TX -  SWACHA-The Electronic Payments Resource was honored in the 2002 Best of Community Banking Awards, announced at the 28th annual convention of the Independent Community Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT).

SWACHA received the prestigious Silver Eagle Award for Corporate Marketing. SWACHA was recognized for its branding campaign identifying the Risk Management Services, and the role of these programs in fighting crime and fraud in financial institutions.

Two unique programs are offered by the Risk Management Services department of SWACHA: Robbery Reward and the Loss Avoidance Alert System

The Robbery Reward program offers a reward for information leading to the arrest and charging of persons criminally responsible for a robbery at a member financial institution or ATM site. Robbery Reward helps remove perpetrators from the street before they strike a financial institution again.

According to Dennis Simmons, President of SWACHA, "The cost to participate in Robbery Reward is minimal, the savings in robberies prevented are substantial and the peace-of-mind is priceless."

The Loss Avoidance Alert System provides a network for timely information on bank security and potential losses to financial institutions from con artists, counterfeiters, forgers, identification theft, kiting and other fraudulent activity. The Loss Avoidance Alert System employs fax and email transmissions to send alters of illegal action to member financial institutions and law enforcement agencies, providing a valuable exchange of information.

SWACHA- The Electronic Payments Resource is a non-profit association of approximately 1,100 members across the Southwest. SWACHA's mission is delivering vital and innovative services that enhance the viability and profitability of its members. SWACHA membership provides advantages such as superior quality training and resource materials, access to the toll-free Payments Answerline, risk management programs, and representation at the national level in the development of ACH policies and rules.
